MetaMask is a WebExtension, and that means we're really just a web page in the corner. There have been a few times that some bug, maybe in the browser, causes the font size to change, sometimes pushing buttons off the screen.
While MetaMask can't change the font size for you, we read the source code for Chrome, and found a method for manually changing the popup's font size, following these steps.
- Visit chrome-extension://nkbihfbeogaeaoehlefnkodbefgpgknn/popup.html(this opens the popup in a browser window).
- Use the browser zoom commands to zoom out a few clicks. This is in the
Viewmenu. The zoom size on this tab should also affect the popup.
Why this works
Chrome stores the font-size preference on a per-domain basis. You can see this by opening two tabs to the same page, and changing font size on one, and that it changes the other.
By taking advantage of this property, we're able to open the MetaMask view in a tab, where we have access to font size controls, even though WebExtensions don't usually have a way to change their font size.
